Bars
Kvarteret has three permanent bars that are open every week and make up Kvarteret as a watering hole! Most of our spaces are also equipped with bars that can be used for events.
Age limit at Kvarteret
The age limit at Kvarteret during the study semester is 18 years with a valid student ID, or 20 years for you. With a valid student ID means:
- Student ID from higher education (høyskole or university)
- Valid ID from ingeniørhøgskolen
- Valid ID from Norwegian command school or compulsory military service
- Valid apprenticeship certificate
- Valid ID from a folkehøyskole
Kvarterets café is a watering hole for a lot of occasions - but maybe first and foremost a place to get a great meal or a coffee that hits the spot.
Stjernesalen is on the second floor, and is open every weekday to save your blood sugar. On weekdays the entrance is on the side of the building (as you're coming down from UiB campus). The opening hours of the bar in Stjernesalen mostly follow the kitchen.
Stjernesalen has a wide selection of food and drink. We have tailored our menu so that you with allergies, or those who want to try penguin potatoes, have what you need in our café.
This is Kvarteret's own pub in reliable conversation style and with a large selection.
Grøndahls is on the first floor and is open every day except Sunday. On weekdays the pub has entrance on the street plan in Håkonsgaten. On weekends you must use the main entrance on the side of the building. On Mondays Grøndahls is hosting 'Micro Monday' - our permanent concept that makes it easier to get to know micro brewing from far and near.
In Grøndahls the music level is always in favor of engaging conversations. Here you can easily gather with friends and acquaintances - completely informally - whenever it would suit you.
Our cocktailbar is only open on weekends, and here is the age-limit is 20 for all guests. It may very well be called Halvtimen because it takes a little time to find. Here the volunteers are ready with shakers and cocktail glasses to give you the best possible taste experience, and the music is upbeat. In Halvtimen they also sell toasted bread to hungry night owls. On Thursdays the permanent concept 'TønneTorsdag' is happening, where the focus is on everything that has been stored between planks and barrel bands.
Halvtimen is on the third floor of the building, up the concrete stairs. There is ID check at the door.
